There are five types of wetting and dispersing agents commonly used in coatings: anionic, cationic, electrically neutral, multifunctional and non-ionic. Among them, the anion price is low, and the non-ionic is easy to desorb and move in the coating film.
1. The dispersant is adsorbed on the surface of solid particles, which makes the surface of condensed solid particles easy to be wetted.
2. The polymer dispersant forms an adsorption layer on the surface of the solid particles, which increases the charge on the surface of the solid particles and improves the reaction force between the particles forming the three-dimensional obstruction.
3. The dispersant can form a bimolecular structure on the surface of the solid particles. The polar end of the outer dispersant has strong affinity with water, which increases the wettability of the solid particles by water. The solid particles are far away from each other due to electrostatic repulsion.
4. The dispersant makes the system uniform, increases the suspension performance, does not precipitate, and makes the physical and chemical properties of the whole system the same.
